It’s been a while…

I can’t believe it’s been over a month since my last post! During this time, I didn’t even read any blogs. Nothing was really happening for us on the IF front, and so many of the bloggers I follow became pregnant (so happy for you all!!!), I just needed a break.

Now I’m back!! DH and I went on a lovely vacation over the holidays. We were in Bali, Hong Kong, and I went to Taiwan with my family after DH came back home. I can’t say I’m refreshed from the trip since Asia isn’t a tremendously relaxing place, but it was great to get away. Here are some pictures I took in Bali.

So here I am, back in reality. DH’s parents did a genetics test in October, and we finally got the results back. Turns out DH’s dad has the same mutation. I had a gut feeling that was the case. Knowing this doesn’t really help, or hinder us in any way. It’s just a “good to know” thing I guess.

I mentioned before that we’re going to start IVF in January. January is here, but I still haven’t called my RE to schedule my baseline. I guess now that my “deadline” is here, reality is setting in. Maybe I’m also hoping that we’ll magically get pregnant even though statistically, it’s close to impossible.

  1. I am glad you had a great Holiday! Bali looks amazing! It is a place I would love to go in the near future. I totally understand your thinking that you might ‘magically’ fall pregnant. I also thought I would magically fall pregnant the cycle before our first IVF cycle, but I didn’t. I also thought I would fall pregnant in the cycle after that and before our #2 IVF cycle, but I didn’t. I can’t help but hope that maybe it still might happen naturally.

  2. Those pictures are beautiful!!! Either way I hope you become pregnant soon. Take as much time as you need in preparing for IVF if that ends up being the route you have to take. We may be starting this process about the same time.
